Robert H. Slicer, 81, a lifetime resident of Kennett Square, passed away at his
home on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. He was the husband of Janice P. Slicer,
with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Robert was the son of the late Samuel and Bertha Owens Slicer.
He was a graduate of Kennett High School and a member of St. Patrick Church in
Kennett Square, where he was also an usher.
Robert was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and served as a tail gunner
during World War II.
He was a lineman for Peco Energy, retiring in 1989 after 44 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Bachtle of
New London, and Sheila Gilpin and her husband, [...] Kennett Square; a sister,
Charmaine Brown and her husband, Raymond, of Kennett Square; a niece, Lisa
Arguello and her husband, David, and their family; a grandson, Robert Bachtle;
two granddaughters, Kelle Tuck and Lare Gilpin; a great-granddaughter, [...]
Tuck; and a cousin, Mildred McDonough.
Family and friends are invited to attend Robert's life celebration from 8:15 to
9:15 a.m. Monday, March 21, at the Kuzo & Gof[...] Home Ltd., "A Life
Celebration Home," State and Meredith Streets, Kennett Square.
His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church,
Cypress and Meredith Streets, Kennett Square.
Interment will be private.
